Zellige tilework, tadelakt plaster and hand-carved plasterwork — Riad Origines welcomes you steps from the medina's liveliest squares, in the calm of an open-air courtyard.
Two women in love with Morocco, Chloé and Nadia, fell under the spell of a 16th-century riad, hidden down a quiet lane of the medina. Piece by piece, they restored it in the traditional way — zellige, tadelakt, hand-carved plasterwork — while adding the modern touch that reflects who they are.
From this meeting of heritage and contemporary living was born Riad Origines: a place where the pool, hammam and rooftop overlooking the medina's rooftops, the Koutoubia and the snow-capped Atlas invite you to slow down, between two strolls through the souks.
6 rooms & suites, 18 guests in total — with the option to privatize the entire riad for a group, family, yoga retreat or seminar. In every room, the large bed can be arranged as 2 single beds on request.

Monumental carved wardrobe, framed Quranic tablets, gold metal chandelier. Bathroom in dark brown zellige. Timeless, refined atmosphere.

Sand and khaki palette, black-framed ceiling, solid wood chevron headboard. Bathroom in red and black zellige, black basin and baroque mirror.

1 large double bed + 2 single beds. Soothing powder blue-grey palette, woven trays on the wall, embroidered headboard. Bathroom in dark grey marble with etched-glass shower.

1 large bed + 1 single bed, black/white/saffron palette. The only room with a balcony over the interior courtyard. Bathroom in black marble, double basin and white baroque sofa.

Slate grey palette. A spectacular bathroom entirely covered in shattered-mirror mosaic, shower archway and double basin. The riad's most Instagrammable room.

1 double bed + 3 single beds. Beige, ochre and white tones. Decorative pottery niches, gallery of brass-framed Moroccan portraits, beautiful geometric zellige bathroom.
